Now days people are driving very fast, accidents are occurring frequently and we lost our valuable life by making small mistakes while driving (school zone, hills area, and highways). So in order to avoid such kind of accidents and to alert the drivers and to control their vehicle speed in such kind of places, the highway department have placed the signboards. But sometimes it may not be possible to view that kind of signboards and there is a chance for accident.  So to intimate the driver about the zones and to limit the speed automatically can be done by means of using RF technology. The main objective is to design a speed control unit meant for vehicle’s speed control and monitoring the zones, which can run on an embedded system. Speed Control unit can be custom designed to fit into a vehicle’s dashboard, and can control the speed of the vehicle. The project is composed of two separate units: zone status transmitter unit and receiver (speed control) unit. Once the information is received from the zones, the vehicle’s embedded unit automatically alerts the driver to reduce the speed according to the zone, it waits for few seconds and otherwise vehicle’s speed control unit automatically reduces the speed. At transmitter we have a RF transmitter which transmits the specific information at regular interval fed into its microcontroller’s program memory which is connected with it. At receiver side we have a RF receiver which receives the information and this information is processed by the microcontroller connected with it to execute the functions according to the program or instructions fed into its memory.
